The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mfgcyclocross.com\/2009\/10\/mfg-5-results-are-now-posted\/\">results<\/a> are in, and while I didn&#8217;t finish, I was the first to not finish, which put me 24 of 43. Compared to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mfgcyclocross.com\/results\/ubdro-kick-off-cross\/#ubrdo-kick-off-cross-cat-4-men\">35 of 50<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mfgcyclocross.com\/results\/rad-racing-gp\/#rad-racing-gp-cat-4-men\">33 of 39<\/a>, that feels like an improvement. I dropped a chain again too. I did finally find a a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bikeman.com\/content\/view\/922\/30\/\">Rohloff<\/a>, but it doesn&#8217;t fit my clearances. Chain guards appear all to require a further step down in chainring, which wouldn&#8217;t be terrible, but I&#8217;m almost wondering now if it&#8217;d be simpler to just run a double with no derauiller and stick to the lower chainring, using the larger one as the guard. Granted, it wouldn&#8217;t look cool at all, but hey, I&#8217;m riding a 1985 Schwinn anyway. Go team oldschool beardo.
